Our School
Located on a farm site just a mile off Highway 19 in Colton, SD, our school offers students the opportunity to play and learn outdoors in a safe and loving environment. Our mission is to create an agricultural learning environment that builds self-confidence, surrounded by a family of believers in Jesus Christ.

What We Believe
01 — Mankind
Man was created by God in His image; we are sinful and through Jesus we can have salvation.
02 — The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the inspired and infallible word of God. It is the written foundation for faith and practice for believers. It is authoritative in theological concepts as well as in its geographical, historical and scientific details.
03 — Marriage
Marriage is a God ordained institution consisting of the union of one man and one woman.
04 — Parenting
The right of parents to direct the upbringing, education and care of their children (whether by blood, adoption or legal guardianship) is a fundamental right and a responsibility ordained by God.
A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
Luke 6:40

Tuition Investment
Tuition is $40 per day, with payments collected at the start of the Fall and Spring semesters. We strive to keep our program affordable for families while maintaining high-quality education.
A $500 deposit is required each April to secure your child’s spot for the upcoming year. Remember, your tuition is more than a fee—it’s an investment in your child’s future.

What is Agriculture Education?
Agricultural education teaches students about agriculture, food and natural resources using a three circle model. The goal is to exhibit student growth through multiple platforms to ensure success and learning.
Classroom: Each year an Agriculture class is taught by our certified ag ed instructor. These classes are designed to educate students on the importance of our food, land, animals, natural resources, and viable ways to work and build with our hands.
SAE: Supervised Agriculture Experience. Consists of working outside of the classroom learning about anything agriculture related. The goal is for the student to gain experience, learn about careers/ interests, and track their hours / pay they earn. We use AET an online recordkeeping program to track their information.
FFA is more than just the stereotypical image of cows, sows, and plows. Although you might have heard that analogy, the organization has evolved far beyond its traditional roots. It’s also no longer called Future Farmers of America, a name change that took place in 1980.
So, what is FFA really about? It’s fundamentally tied to agriculture, which impacts our daily lives since we all eat and rely on agricultural products. But FFA is also about much more than that. It focuses on leadership, personal growth, and career success, aligning with its mission to develop these essential skills in its members. The organization provides hands-on opportunities for students to explore various careers and achieve personal success. Additionally, FFA offers numerous travel opportunities throughout its members' careers. For instance, Mrs. VanDerVliet has traveled extensively, including to South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Washington DC, Kansas City, Indiana, Kentucky, Germany, and the Czech Republic, through her FFA involvement.
As an Ag Educator, I’ve seen firsthand how FFA boosts students' confidence when they engage in chapter, state, and national events. Our local chapter is active with fundraisers, community service, meetings, and competitions, all of which contribute to a well-rounded and impactful FFA experience.
